WAIMEA, Hawaii – The Pacific men's golf program completed the opening round of the 35th Amer Ari Invitational, standing in 16th place on Thursday afternoon from the Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club.
Competing in one of the toughest tournaments of the season alongside seven of the top 16 programs in the country, the Tigers (-5) find themselves tied with Oregon in the 20-team field. Auburn serves as the team front runner with a 32-under par through the first day.
Four Tigers finished the first day even par or better with senior
Timothy Jung paving the way for Pacific with a three-under par. Jung made a team-high seven birdies on Thursday, guiding his individual position to 42nd place individually.
Sophomore
Felix Bouchard made his first appearance at the Amer Ari Invitational as a Tiger, capturing a two-under par score in his opening 18 holes. Bouchard sits among the top 60 individually in the field.
Redshirt junior
Deitrek Gill, a West Coast Conference men's golf preseason team member, shot an even par and was the lone Tiger to collect an eagle, doing so on the third hole. Sophomore
Brasen Briones also carded an even par, putting Briones and Gill in 82nd individually.
Senior
Travis Robbie rounded out the team scoring with four-over par. Senior
Ian Fritz competed as the only Pacific individual, coming in at seven-over par.
