SB Preview at Hawaii 2026

Softball Ready to Open Season in Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii – The 2026 Tigers open up the season on the road to participate in the Paradise Softball Classic hosted by the University of Hawaii, where Pacific will play five games beginning tomorrow at 2 p.m. against North Dakota.

The Tigers carry an unblemished 2-0 record against the Fighting Hawks after hosting UND for a pair of games in 2017. Also, at the tournament will be WCC newcomer Seattle for one game and then two games versus Hawaii. All-time the Tigers are 3-6 versus Seattle and 34-33 against Hawaii going back to the program's days in the Big West Conference.

Six of the eight Tigers that appeared in 40 or more games last season return to the program. Included in those six are the Tigers' two representatives on the All-WCC Preseason Team – redshirt senior Olivia Silvestre and senior Amanda Bricker.

However, joining Bricker in the infield are returning senior Jordan Hayes and sophomore Peyton Clifford. Fellow senior/sophomore duo Allie Capello and Jayleen Scott comprise the two returnees in the outfield joining Silvestre.

Both Capello and Scott flashed a discerning eye at the plate as each student-athlete walked more than they struck out with Scott ranking in the top-50 nationally for the toughest players to strike out. Hayes also earned a reputation as one of the more sure-handed student-athletes in the country by ranking 52nd in assists per game.

Returning in the circle are the team's top two inning eaters a season ago in junior Justice Alcaraz and sophomore Alexa Lewis. The former spun over 100 innings for the Tigers and put together five complete games in the circle en route to a 9-7 record. The latter meanwhile gave Head Coach Sam Duran-Kukuk 69 innings of work and two complete games while leading the team in strikeouts at 51.

Pacific has also added five newcomers to the roster via the transfer portal in juniors Ariel Nava (Delta College), Bailey Boetjer (Blinn College), Zaedi Tagalog (Arizona) and sophomores Katelyn Maciel (Kansas City) and Kaytee Dahlstrom (Southern Illinois).

Six freshmen also made their way to Stockton over the summer and will look to make their collegiate debuts over the course of the weekend in Kylee Garrett, Kelly Whelihan, Sophia Lambaren, Carley Mulcahey, Jaelyn Lee, and Ave Risati.

None of Pacific's game will be broadcast this weekend but there is a possibility for Saturday's action against Hawaii to be broadcast over radio but UH has yet to confirm. Links for fans to follow along live stats are available on Pacific's athletics website, X and Facebook.
