Bricker’s Two Homer Game Highlights Softball’s Saturday Games

STOCKTON, Calif. – Senior Amanda Bricker became the 27th Tiger in team history to record a multi-homer game and tied the school record during Pacific's 10-7 game one win over UC San Diego but then fell 3-0 to Fresno State in the second game, concluding the Libby Matson Tournament at Bill Simoni Field on Saturday.

GAME 1
Bricker's multi-homer effort was the first by a Tiger since 2024 and the first to be done by a student-athlete not named Rian Dirmeyer since Reagan Hamilton in 2022.

In a reversal of Friday's four-run, nine-hit game, Pacific (6-14) and UCSD (10-11) combined to score 17 runs on 26 total hits – 11 of which came from Pacific. Bricker, alongside senior Allie Capello, and redshirt senior Olivia Silvestre notched multi-hit efforts in the win. Bricker's multi-homer effort was the first by a Tiger since 2024 and the first to be done by a student-athlete not named Rian Dirmeyer since Reagan Hamilton in 2022.

However, it was freshman Kelly Whelihan who broke the game open for the Tigers.  In the fifth inning she came up in a pinch-hit opportunity with the bases loaded and with one swing unloaded the bases, knocking a triple to right center and giving Pacific a four-run cushion. The triple was Pacific's first of the season as a team and the freshman's first collegiate runs batted in.

The team also got RBIs from senior Jordan Hayes, juniors Bailey Boetjer/Kaylah Adams, and sophomore Peyton Clifford.

Sophomore Alexa Lewis picked up the win for the team, her third of the season, after working the middle two innings and gave up four runs on six hits and walking one. She appeared in relief of freshman Sophia Lambaren who spun the opening three frames without allowing a run on three hits and a walk, also striking out three.

Sophomore Kaytee Dahlstrom picked up the save, throwing a clean seventh inning giving up only one hit and one walk with a strikeout.

GAME 2
A pitcher's duel in game two, Pacific was only once able to have more than one runner on base at a time but could not capitalize with a run. Drawing her second start of the season, Whelihan followed up her three-RBI performance with the first multi-hit game of her career.

The other hit was tallied by Hayes. She also reached once via the walk.

Silvestre and Capello also drew walks to reach base.

Junior Ariel Nava was tagged with her third loss of the season after giving up a run in the third inning – it was the only run she gave up in her three innings of work. She was followed by freshman
Jaelyn Lee who lasted the remaining four innings and gave up two runs, both earned, on four hits and two walks. She struck out one batter.

UP NEXT
The team takes a short trip up to UC Davis for a midweek showdown with the Aggies before coming home for a weekend series against Utah Valley Saturday and Sunday. The weekend action will be streamed on ESPN+.
