STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific women's tennis is set to host a doubleheader against Dominican and Jessup on Friday before welcoming CSUN to the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center on Sunday, marking the first three matches of a four match homestand.
Junior
Milena Maiorova is the Tiger (0-8) to watch on the singles courts, as she enters the week with a two-match winning streak after defeating both Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine on court one. On the season she ranks second on the team with three singles wins. Team singles wins leader junior
Indiya McLeod went 1-1 in the previous weekend, helping gain a point against CSUF.
In last year's triumph over Dominican (5-1), both student-athletes collected straight set wins over their opponents. The Tigers are the first of three division one foes the Penguins will face this season, with one of the remaining two being Illinois State – a team Pacific brings to Stockton in March.
First serve against Dominican in doubles is set for 11 a.m.
The second half of the doubleheader is the first ever meeting between the Tigers and Warriors (0-4). Junior
Leyanne Hirota and sophomore
Maggie Hoe will look to add to their team leading three doubles wins on court three. Last weekend, both McLeod and Maiorova picked up their first win of the season a pair on doubles court two. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Then on Sunday is the rubber match of a three-year series between Pacific and CSUN (4-2), having each won on their home courts the past two seasons. In 2024, Pacific pulled out a dramatic 4-3 comeback win that Maiorova was able to contribute to with a win on singles court five.
Last season, Maiorova and junior
Rayna Sugai were able to pull out victories on singles courts two and four, but the Tigers fell 5-2. A Tigers win would even the all-time series at two wins each. First serve in the doubles is set for noon.
All three matches will be streamed on Track Tennis.
