FULLERTON, Calif. – For the first time since the season opener, the Pacific women's tennis program ventures outside Stockton – this time to face Cal St. Fullerton on Friday at 10 a.m. and then UC Irvine on Saturday at 10 a.m.
The Titans (4-2) and Tigers (0-6) are making just their second meeting on the tennis courts this decade after sharing the Big West Conference until the end of the 2012-13 season and maintaining non-conference matchups. A Pacific win on Friday would be the first over Cal St. Fullerton since 2015, which was also played in Fullerton.
Now juniors
Milena Maiorova and
Indiya McLeod both featured in the most recent meeting in 2024, with the latter winning on doubles court three with former Tiger
Megan Carmichael. The Australia native is Pacific's winningest student-athlete of the season, garnering three wins thus far on singles court two.
UC Irvine (2-4), another former Big West foe, makes its first appearance on Pacific's schedule this decade after having lost the two most recent meetings in 2017 and 2018.
Maiorova, alongside fellow juniors
Rayna Sugai and
Nahreen Cheam, will be going for their second singles wins of the season with previous victories on singles courts one, three and five respectively.
On the doubles courts, junior
Leyanne Hirota and sophomore
Maggie Hoe have held down doubles court three with a 2-2 record.
Friday's match with Cal St. Fullerton will be streamed on ESPN+.
