Pacific Opens 2026 at Cal State Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Pacific swim and dive program begins the new calendar year on the road, facing Cal State Bakersfield on Friday at noon from the John S. Hillman Memorial Aquatic Center.

The Tigers are set to take on their first of five meets away from the Eberhardt Aquatics Center during the second half of the season, beginning with a trip down south to clash with the Roadrunners.

Pacific stands with a 3-1 record on the women's side with wins over Cal State East Bay, Fresno Pacific and UC Santa Cruz. The Pacific men are 1-1 with their lone victory over the Firebirds.

The Tigers have been led by the standout performers of senior Mattia Giurgevich and sophomore Nate Rasmussen on the men's side and sophomore Christina Agiomamitou and senior Katie Honey on the women's side. Rasmussen has been named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Men's Athlete of the Week twice so far this season, continuing to impress in his second-year campaign.

Honey currently ranks sixth in the conference in scoring with 725.15 points to her name. Agiomamitou is also listed among the top 25 women's swimmers in the MPSF, according to Swimcloud.

On the diving side, junior Lexxi Chavez looks to start the new year on a high note, facing her former team to ring in 2026.

The Tigers and Roadrunners meet for a fifth consecutive season in the pool. Last year, Pacific hosted CSUB in Stockton and earned a 177-85 victory on the men's side and a 156-106 win on the women's side.

Friday's meet will not be broadcasted live on any platforms. The meet is scheduled to begin at noon.
