WTEN Recap vs. Idaho 2026

Women’s Tennis Falls at Home to Idaho

STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific put up a strong fight against Idaho on Friday afternoon, but dropped the 4-3 match at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.

The Tigers (0-3) found themselves in an early hole after suffering defeats on doubles courts one and two. Junior Leyanne Hirota and sophomore Maggie Hoe lost their first match of the doubles season after dropping a tightly contested 7-6 match.

Idaho (2-2) clinched the match after singles wins on courts four, five and six. Freshman Kaylie Cao made her collegiate debut on court six.

However, Pacific never gave up the fight and pulled off wins on the first three singles courts. Junior Indiya McLeod won her second straight match of the season after pulling off a 7-5, 6-3 straight set win. Fellow juniors Milena Maiorova and Rayna Sugai each won their first matches of the season, in different ways. The former emerged victorious in two close sets, 7-5 and 6-4, while the latter erased a first set loss to win a tiebreaker in set two and then cruise to the win in set three.

The team finishes up the weekend on Sunday with an 11 a.m. match against Nevada. Fans can follow along on Track Tennis.
