Agiomamitou, Rasmussen Named MPSF Athletes of the Week

STOCKTON, Calif. – Sophomore Christina Agiomamitou and sophomore Nate Rasmussen of the Pacific men's and women's swimming and diving program were named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Athletes of the Week, as announced by the conference Wednesday morning.

The sophomore sensations powered the Tigers to victories over Cal State East Bay and Simon Fraser during senior weekend at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center. Agiomamitou and Rasmussen represent the first pair of swimmers to earn the honor together during the same week since last season when Mitchell Hopper and Paige Sondgeroth did so on Jan. 22, 2025.

Agiomamitou, a native of Nicosia, Cyprus, was stellar once again last weekend, collecting three first place finishes in the 100 yard free (51.44), 300 yard free (2:55.33) and 500 free (4:55.52). This is the second time in her career that Agiomamitou has earned the MPSF Women's Athlete of the Week accolade and first since she notched the award during the first week of her freshman campaign where she eventually earned the 2025 MPSF Women's Freshman Swimmer of the Year.

"Christina had an exceptional week and really showed what she's capable of when preparation and confidence come together," Pacific head coach Katelyne Herrington said. "Going lifetime bests across multiple events in back-to-back meets speaks to her work ethic and consistency, and her performances put her among the top swimmers in the conference. We're incredibly proud of how she has stepped up and represented Pacific."

Rasmussen, a native of Stockton, California, helped turn in four first place finishes last Sunday in the 150 free (1:10.65), 50 free (20.91), 50 butterfly (22.55) and the first leg of the 200 yard free style relay on the A team (1:26.18). This is the third time this season Rasmussen has been honored as the MPSF Men's Athlete of the Week, tying him with UNLV's Bryson Huey for the most times so far in the 2025-26 campaign.

"Nate made an immediate impact and competed with a lot of confidence and versatility across the weekend," Herrington said. "To win events, post lifetime bests and contribute to relays in multiple meets show his competitive mindset and team-first approach. His performances were a great example of the energy and standard we are building at Pacific."

Agiomamitou, Rasmussen, and the Tigers look to carry that momentum into their final regular season competitions this week as the men swim at California on Thursday at noon from the Spieker Aquatics Complex while the women compete at UC Davis on Saturday at noon from the Schaal Aquatics Center.
