STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific track and field program kickstarts its 2026 season with a pair of two-day meets this weekend, preparing for the UW Preview, hosted by Washington, and the Nevada Invitational, hosted by Nevada from Friday, Jan. 16 through Saturday, Jan. 17.
The Tigers will split themselves into two groups, one in Reno, Nevada and the other in Seattle, Washington for their first of three trips to each destination during the indoor portion of the campaign.
Pacific, who will see the men compete for the first time as a revived track program under the guidance of interim head coach
Isaac Wood and his staff, will travel 11 men and ten women to compete at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center while five men and five women will race at the Dempsey Indoor Facility.
At the Nevada Invitational, the Tigers will see five ladies run the one-mile event in senior Britney Goriye, freshman
Keira Hampton, junior
Emma Kaufman, senior
Sophia Livingston and junior
Alexa Myers. Livingston ran a mile in 5:22.46 at the 2025 Nevada Silver State Invitational.
Sophomore
Fiona Dixon, junior
Nia Overby and freshman
Winisha Steele Michael will take part in the 60-meter dash while the last pair of Pacific women will look to make their mark in the 800-meter event.
The men heading to Reno will make their racing debuts as they will compete in either the 60-meter dash, the one-mile event or 1,000-meter run. Sophomore
Jonathan Jones, one of the 11 newcomers in the Silver State, will go toe-to-toe in the men's long jump.
Shifting gears to the UW Preview, sophomore
Angelina Lione highlights the group heading to Seattle, going for the one mile and 3,000-meter runs. Lione ran a mile of 10:02.68 at the 2025 Nevada Silver State Invitational. Freshman
Jett Davenport serves as a standout candidate on the men's side, running the 3000-meter event where he owns a previous mark of a sub nine-minute time.
The events for the UW Preview begin at 1 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday while the events for the Nevada Invitational start at 10 a.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
