Gill Paces Pacific After Two Rounds at Jim DeLapa Collegiate

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – The Pacific men's golf program utilized a stronger second round on Sunday to propel themselves into sixth place following the opening day of the Jim DeLapa Collegiate, hosted by Central Michigan at Point O' Woods Golf & Country Club.

The Tigers (-2/558) carded the third-best second round of the 13 participating teams, trailing current leader Cincinnati and Michigan in that round. Cincinnati leads the field with a seven-under par.

After an even par in his opening round, redshirt junior Deitrek Gill elevated his play in the second round, scoring a four-under par, which was the third-best among the 75 individuals. Gill stands in a tie for eighth place individually at the end of the first day. Gill also had one of three second-round eagles for the Tigers on the day, boosting their score.

Sophomore Felix Bouchard joined Gill in the top 15 of the individual leaderboard after Sunday's action wrapped up. Bouchard opened the Jim DeLapa Collegiate with a three-under par and sits in a tie for 11th place.

Senior Ian Fritz, senior Timothy Jung and junior Justin Bai rounded out the team scoring for the Tigers, completing their first two rounds with over-par scores. Fritz and Jung were the other two Tigers to collect an eagle in the second round.

The final day of the inaugural tournament will begin with an 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT shotgun start time. Live scoring for the Jim DeLapa Collegiate can be found here.
