Swim & Dive Displays Dominant Victory Over Fresno Pacific in Home Opener

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's and women's swim and dive program flexed its muscles all afternoon, securing a 186-76 win on the women's side and a 188-65 win on the men's side at Saturday's meet at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.

The Tigers cleaned up in the majority of the events on the day, including notching a first-place finish in the first one-meter diving of the inaugural season. The Tigers continued their historical dominance over the Sunbirds, extending their win streak to five contests.

"We were really excited with how we raced together and how we set the tone for the season," Pacific head coach Katelyne Herrington said. "I felt like we took in a lot from today's meet. There's still a lot of work to do early in the season, but I'm pleased with how our training has paid off so far."

Junior Lexxi Chavez competed as the lone representative in diving for Pacific, securing the first place nod for nine points with a 198.08 in the event.

In the swimming portions, the Tigers were victorious, led by the likes of sophomore Christina Agiomamitou and senior Annelise Thomas to name a few on the women's side.

The men were led by many new faces throughout the afternoon, but also a couple key returners in sophomore Graham Inman and senior Mattia Giurgevich.

Pacific took an early lead in the swimming on Saturday, and never looked back, ultimately taking several top three spots throughout the relays, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle races.

The Tigers now look ahead to hosting the two-day PAC Invite next week, beginning at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for the first two sessions on Friday, Oct. 3. Session 3 begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.
