STOCKTON, Calif. – Going up against one of its most decorated alums, the No. 10 Pacific men's water polo program will battle No. 3 USC in a 7 p.m. clash Friday at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.
It will be the return of alumnus
Mihailo Vukazic, who spent the previous four years playing for the Tigers (6-2) and was the 2024 West Coast Conference Player of the Year, a 2024 All-America First-Team honoree and was one of three finalists in the nation for the Cutino Award. Vukazic, who transferred to USC this fall, is currently second on the Trojans (10-1) in scoring with 23 goals.
The first 100 fans in attendance will get a free Water Polo U cup.
Pacific will play its first regular season match in two weeks after defeating China-Shanghai and American River College in exhibition games this past weekend. It will be the team's second consecutive regular season game against a top-three opponent after last facing No. 2 Cal.
The Tigers have been led by the freshman duo of
Apostolos Georgaras and
Borisz Kasa-Gal, who've combined for 60 goals and a pair of WCC Newcomer of the Week awards. Georgaras is coming off a six-goal performance against the Golden Bears.
USC's only defeat this year came at the hands of No. 2 Cal last weekend 13-11. The Trojans were the national runner-ups last season.
Pacific has beaten USC in each of the last two match-ups in Stockton. The Tigers won 15-13 in 2022 and 12-11 in 2019.
Pacific will wrap-up the weekend with a road game at No. 17 UC Santa Barbara at 12 p.m. Sunday. Attendance is free and open to the first 300 fans when it hits maximum capacity.
