PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A pair of lopsided victories was on tap for the No. 9 Pacific men's water polo program Saturday the freshman class showcased its talents in an 18-7 win over Iona and a 23-5 victory over LIU at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.

The freshmen duo of
Borisz Kasa-Gal and
Apostolos Georgaras combined for 21 goals in their collegiate debuts. Kasa-Gal netted five goals against Iona and seven against LIU for 12 on the day, while Georgaras registered five scores against Iona and four against LIU for nine overall.

Between the two matches, Pacific garnered 11 different goal scorers, including freshman
Brody Biedermann who tallied a hat trick in his debut against Iona and scored another against LIU. Another freshman,
Petar Popovic, scored in each game including a pair against LIU.

Daniel Viscia, senior
Alek Newman and sophomore
Ori Buzaglo also found the back of the net in each game.

In net, the Tigers used a pair of goalkeepers as junior
Benjamin Gronbach and freshman
Kiss Gergely each played a half of both games. Gronbach got the win in game one and Gergely in game two.

Neither game was ever in doubt. The Tigers jumped out to an 11-3 halftime lead against Iona and a 12-3 halftime advantage against LIU.

Pacific moved to 5-0 all-time against Iona and 2-0 against LIU.

The Tigers will go up against a pair of ranked opponents Sunday to conclude the weekend. It includes a 7:30 a.m. (PT) match against t-No. 3 Fordham, followed by a 10:30 a.m. (PT) match against the host, No. 17 Brown.
