WTEN Recuit Signing 2025-26

Women’s Tennis Adds Two to Roster Ahead of Fall Season

STOCKTON, Calif. – Head coach Mary Beth Gunn announced the 10th and 11th members of the 2025-26 Pacific women's tennis team Wednesday afternoon in freshmen Kaylie Cao and Eden Kanon.

A four-star recruit out of Yorba Linda High School, Cao is a four-time First-Team All-Crestview League selection as well as the Crestview doubles champion in 2023 and runner up in 2024. Prior to the 2023 championship, Cao was named doubles MVP in the Crestview league in 2022. This past season she added team MVP to her list of accomplishments.

More than a doubles standout, Cao reached the quarterfinals of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) tournament in her high school career as well.

"Kaylie comes in with a lot of USTA tournament experience. She grew up playing in Southern California which is the toughest tennis region in the United States. She has a great knowledge of the game, and she also is a high achieving student," Gunn said. "Those are two major qualities we look for in recruiting. She is bringing her energy to the court and the classroom, and she is a fantastic addition to our team and to our Pacific campus."

As a student, Cao will be going into the pre-dental track at Pacific.

Meanwhile, Kanon comes to Pacific from Joseph A. Gregori High School in Modesto, California where she was a four-time league champion and a San Joaquin section champion.

Equally proficient in the classroom, she has a Central California Academic League First Team, Academic All-League, California Scholarship Federation Lifetime Member accolade to her name and was a recipient of the Golden State Seal Diploma. Kanon plans to major in biological sciences at Pacific.

"Eden is a great local tennis talent. She was a very successful high school player at Modesto and comes from a tennis family. She also is a top-notch student; she is driven on the court and in the classroom, and she cares about her community. She is bringing the type of culture we are looking for here at Pacific," Gunn said.

Both Kanon and Cao will join the team ahead of its fall season.
