URBANA, Ill. – The Pacific men's golf program moved up a spot into a tie for eighth place after Tuesday's second set of 18 holes at the Urbana Regional at Atkins Golf Club.
Despite a lengthy lightning delay at the end of the second day of postseason competition, the Tigers (+10/578) carded a four-over par in the second round, sitting in a tie alongside Illinois State, 11 strokes back of a top five spot of the 13-team field. Host Illinois remains at the top of the team leaderboard while Oklahoma State moved up into second place side-by-side with UNLV, followed by Texas Tech and Troy. The top five teams after tomorrow's final round will advance to the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, California from May 23-28.
Sophomore
Carlos Astiazaran and junior
Timothy Jung stand together in a tie for 24th individually with one-over par each after two rounds of golf. Astiazaran turned in an eagle on the fifth hole today, marking the Tigers' first one at the Urbana Regional.
Junior
Deitrek Gill moved up in the individual leaderboard, carding a 72 on the second day to stand with a five-over par overall. Junior
Travis Robbie and redshirt junior
Deitrek Gill round out the rest of the Pacific five-man group through two days.
