FRESNO, Calif. – The Pacific baseball program looks to avenge a home loss to Fresno State earlier this season, beginning a four-game road trip at Bob Bennett Stadium on Tuesday at 5:05 p.m. PDT.
The Tigers (20-32) will play its final non-conference opponent of the regular season in the Bulldogs (25-26) before taking on San Diego in the West Coast Conference regular season series finale.
Pacific's bats have been fueled by the hot hands of redshirt senior
JT Waldon and fifth year
John-Howard Bobo. While Waldon collected three multi-hit performances in the series victory over Pepperdine, Bobo slashed .500 with five runs and three extra-bases hits last week, including a solo home run for his second big fly of the year. On Senior Day last Sunday, Bobo went 4-for-4 and reached base six times in the effort against the Waves.
The Tigers possess four hitters batting over the .300 mark, with Waldon and Bobo joining accompanying
Jake Tandy and senior
Drake Bicknell after another successful weekend at the plate.
On the pitching side, sophomore
Regan Carter dealt seven innings of no unearned runs in Friday's start. Senior
Jarryd Wood holds a sub-three ERA on the year with 24.0 innings on the mound.
Fresno State enters its final home game of the season after dropping two of three to San Jose State. Since the Tigers and Bulldogs met on April 29, Fresno State owns a 2-5 record.
Pacific and Fresno State meet for the second time this season after the Bulldogs scored a touchdown with seven runs in Stockton. Last year in Fresno, Pacific put up a good fight as junior
Kaden Petersen crushed a pinch-hit three-run home run to give the Tigers some life late in the contest that ultimately went down as an 8-7 decision in favor of the Bulldogs. Pacific is 4-7 on the road at Fresno State since 2013.
The game will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network with a first pitch slated for 5:05 p.m. PDT.
