Box Score STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's tennis program put up on a fight on multiple courts but ended up dropping a 7-0 decision to San Diego on Sunday at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
Pacific (5-13, 0-5 WCC) grabbed a win at No. 2 doubles for the second consecutive day. Sophomore
Indiya McLeod and senior
Alexis Sam teamed up for a lopsided 6-1 victory.
Though, USD (9-8, 4-0 WCC) took the doubles point after finishing on top on courts one and three. The Toreros carried their doubles momentum into singles, but not without the Tigers going the distance on courts three and five.
McLeod nearly completed an unbeaten weekend but dropped a third set tiebreaker in a 7-5, 3-6, 10-6 decision. The same fate happened to sophomore
Rayna Sugai who also erased a first set deficit but fell in a third set tiebreaker in a 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 final.
Pacific will have a full week before its next match when it heads to Santa Clara next Sunday for a 1 p.m. match.
