STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific baseball program opened up an eight-game homestand, dropping Tuesday's tilt to Fresno State by a 7-0 margin at Klein Family Field.
The Tigers (18-27) and the Bulldogs (23-21) battled in their first meeting of two on the year as the visitors scored early and never looked back in the decision.
Redshirt senior
Josh Souza made the start for the Tigers and was handed the loss, going 2.0 innings and allowing two runs. Pacific utilized seven more pitchers in relief outings.
Senior
Drake Bicknell put together a strong performance at and behind the plate, throwing out a runner out at home plate to keep the Tigers within striking distance early. Bicknell also hit a single as one of the Tigers' three hits on the night.
The Bulldogs scored two in the top of the second inning and continued to add on, ultimately holding on for the result. The Tigers did their part defensively, turning three double plays on the night to aid their performance on the field. Those three double plays mark the most in a single game this year and the most since Feb. 18, 2024, against UNLV.
Pacific looks ahead to resuming West Coast Conference action, taking on Saint Mary's at Klein Family Field, beginning Friday night.
