Tigers Complete Season-Long Road Trip at California Baptist

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Rounding the final leg of its season-long seven-game road trip, the Pacific baseball program faces California Baptist in a three-game series, beginning Friday at 6 p.m. at James W. Totman Stadium. Saturday's contest starts at 5 p.m. and Sunday's series finale is scheduled for noon.

The Tigers (13-21) are currently 2-2 amidst their road trip, having secured the program's first-ever series victory at LMU last weekend ahead of their non-conference bout with the Lancers (18-15).

Junior Jake Tandy has been a driver of the offense for Pacific, carrying a team-high .369 batting average through 31 games into Friday's tilt. Along with redshirt senior JT Waldon and his .343 clip, the Tigers have a pair of names that sit among the top ten in the West Coast Conference in batting average.

From a pitching perspective, the Tigers have utilized a wide array of arms in different situations, notably led by senior Adan Perez who wields a 4.67 earned run average with a 4-3 record. Perez places top ten in the WCC in wins (T-1st), ERA (9th), strikeouts (41/5th) and innings pitched (41/1st). Pacific has been in a lot of close contests, which puts their seven saves as a top three mark within the conference.

Cal Baptist enters the weekend after getting swept by Grand Canyon in Western Athletic Conference action, but did defeat San Diego State in its midweek matchup by a 10-4 margin. The Lancers have also notable wins over fellow WCC members Portland, Pepperdine and San Francisco earlier this season.

CBU is led offensively by Ben Castelli and Ryan Kim with their co-leading seven home runs and .300+ batting averages. Nicholas Dumesnil is a player to look out for on the base paths as he has 18 stolen bases in 21 attempts this season. Cody New is an arm for the Lancers with a sub-3.60 ERA in eight starts during the 2025 campaign.

Pacific and CBU meet for the ninth time the series history with the overall records drawn evenly at 4-4. Most recently, the Tigers took three of four home games from the Lancers during the 2020 season. Pacific has scored 53 runs across the eight games against CBU.

Following this weekend's road slate, the Tigers will return home to host Cal State Bakersfield with a 5:05 first pitch from Klein Family Field.

All three games this weekend will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
