Women’s Tennis Cruises Past American River College

Box Score STOCKTON, Calif. – In a rain altered match against American River College, the Pacific women's tennis program quickly clinched the 7-0 victory over the Beavers on Tuesday evening at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.

On courts four and six, Pacific (5-11) earned a quick two points from freshman Maggie Hoe and sophomore Leyanne Hirota via 6-0, 6-0 victories. Sophomore Nahreen Cheam and freshman Katarina Brajovic shortly followed with the match clinching points on courts three and five giving up a combined three games between the two.

Sophomores Rayna Sugai and Indiya McLeod gave the Tigers the singles shutout later on with a straight set win from Sugai and a tiebreaker win from McLeod.

Doubles was similarly dominant for Pacific with a shutout win from Brajovic/senior Zara Fung and a 6-2 win from Hoe and Hirota to clinch the 7-0 win. Sugai and McLeod concluded the match with a win on doubles court one.

The final non-conference match of the season, Pacific returns to the West Coast Conference with home matches against Portland on Saturday and San Diego on Sunday. First serve is scheduled for noon and 11 a.m. respectively.
