STOCKTON, Calif. – Behind a dynamic defensive display, the Pacific baseball program picked up a 7-2 victory Tuesday night at Klein Family Field.
The Tigers (11-19) win their eighth home contest of the season, including their first midweek victory in front of the Stockton faithful thanks to defense and timely hitting over the Spartans (17-12).
Pacific utilized nine arms to get the job done on the pitching side of things with redshirt sophomore
Carson Revay (2-3) earning his second win of the season. Revay collected a pair of the Tigers' 11 strikeouts on the night. Redshirt junior
Nathen Nino recorded a four-out save for his first save of the 2025 campaign.
Junior
Rylan Evans played a key part in igniting the Tigers' timely offense, blasting his third home run of the season in a 2-for-4 night at the plate with two runs. Evans also manufactured a double that sparked a three-run bottom of the eighth inning that sealed the win.
Redshirt junior
JT Waldon added another multi-hit performance to his Pacific resume while freshman
Diego Davis drove home a run and played stellar defense at third base.
San Jose State struck first, but redshirt senior
Josh Souza was able to minimize the damage in the top of the first by allowing just one run with a bases-loaded situation.
Pacific countered with a run on two-out RBI single to even up the score at 1-1.
The Tigers continue to add on throughout the contest, elevated by Evans' solo home run in the bottom of the fourth to go up, 3-1, at the time. Another run in the seventh inning brought the Tigers ahead by three after seven frames.
The Spartans rallied in the top of the eighth, scoring once on an RBI double, but the damage was limited as a San Jose State runner was caught between third and home in forcing the final out of the inning, which kept the score at 4-2 in favor of the home team.
A three-run spot in the bottom of the eighth presented the Tigers with some insurance runs that ultimately gave Pacific its first home win since March 8. Tuesday's win also matches the Tigers' season win total from the 2024 campaign.
Pacific continues West Coast Conference action this week, hitting the road to face LMU for a three-game series, beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. PDT.
