Men’s Golf Finishes Sixth at Desert Mountain Collegiate

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Pacific men's golf program completed the second and third rounds of the Desert Mountain Collegiate, finishing in sixth place within the 17-team field Sunday at Desert Mountain Golf Club.

The Tigers (+10/874) battled all day through the two rounds with junior Timothy Jung leading the way with a one-under-par.

"We had some stretches of really great holes today and a few holes that caused some problems for everyone," head coach John Cook said. "The course setup was a true test!"

Two golfers finished in the top 20 in Jung (T-13th) and sophomore Carlos Astiazaran (T-16th), who wrapped up his day with an even par.

Sophomore Justin Bai concluded his performance in the top half of the field of individuals, finishing in a tie for 40th place.

Junior Deitrek Gill and junior Travis Robbie were close to each other at the end, finishing in 42nd and 46th, respectively.

The Tigers have a quick turnaround, returning to the golf course for the Grand Canyon Invitational Tuesday and Wednesday.
