TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Pacific baseball program travels cross country for its farthest journey of the regular season, facing Indiana State in a three-game series at Bob Warn Field, beginning Friday at 4 p.m. EDT/ 1 p.m. EDT.
The Tigers (9-9) split a series with the Roadrunners this week and now have their eyes set on the Sycamores (7-10).
Sophomore
Adrian Vidal had the best game of his Pacific career against the Roadrunners, going 4-for-4 with two runs on Wednesday. The native of Miami, Florida is now hitting .625 through seven games.
Junior
Jake Tandy has been a consistent force at the plate, hitting a team-best .352 through 17 games. Tandy's batting average ranks top five in the West Coast Conference. Redshirt senior
JT Waldon has supplied some pop in the heart of the order for Pacific with a pair of home runs to his name and a team-high 13 RBI.
Pitching has been a focus for Pacific, holding a conference-leading 5.10 earned run average through 18 games. Senior
Adan Perez has been a lights-out pitcher for the Tigers, notching a 0.82 earned run average through his four appearances and 22.0 innings of work.
Senior
Jakob Guardado also has been on his game lately after throwing a 9.0 inning effort against Sacramento State last weekend. His ERA has been lowered to 2.92.
The Sycamores will play their first series of the season at home after hosting Indiana on Tuesday, falling 9-4. Indiana State has been on the road for the majority of the season, including playing in the LeClair Classic.
Last year, the Sycamores were 44-15 and made it to the Lexington Regional in the NCAA tournament. Indiana State's Carlos Pena is one to look out for as he leads his team with a .367 clip and three home runs.
Pacific and Indiana State will meet for the first time in their respective program histories.
