Baseball Hosts First Midweek Matchup Against UC Davis

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific baseball program looks to return the favor to UC Davis in its first home midweek matchup of the season, beginning Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Klein Family Field.

The Tigers (6-2) dropped a narrow decision to the Aggies (5-2) in the first midweek contest and road game of the season by an 11-7 margin. Since then, the Tigers have swept South Dakota State at home and ride a four-game winning streak into Tuesday night.

Pacific has four hitters carrying an average over .300+ with junior Jake Tandy pacing the offense with a .421 clip. Redshirt senior JT Waldon had a big performance in the sweep over South Dakota State, going .357 with a pair of home runs, eight RBI and four runs across the four games.

Graduate student Kordell Brown has been a force in the leadoff spot, hitting .258 with three walks and a team-high five stolen bases. His nine RBIs, along with Waldon's nine, are tied for third in the West Coast Conference. Fifth year John-Howard Bobo has scored eight runs, which ranks among the top 10 in the conference.

On the mound, the Tigers sport a WCC-leading 3.39 ERA across 69.0 innings. Senior Adan Perez has been at the forefront of the pitching staff with a 2-0 record, no earned runs and 12 strikeouts. Pacific has four saves on the year, which has surpassed its total from 2024.

UC Davis enters the matchup having played all of its games at home with series wins over Gonzaga and Santa Clara. Riley Acosta and Nick Leehey pace the offense for the Aggies with averages over .340+. The Aggies' ERA is at 1.97, which is top 12 in the NCAA.

The Tigers and Aggies will meet for the 99th time in the all-time series history between the programs that dates back to 1967. Previously meeting last Tuesday, the Tigers showed some fight, tying the game 7-7 in the top of the seventh before ultimately falling 11-7. In that contest, Waldon and senior DJ Scott were key contributors, each recording two hits and an RBI.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Dennis Ackerman on the call.
