Eight First Place Finishes Carry Pacific Through Day Three at MPSF Championships

ST. GEORGE, UTAH – The Pacific swimming program cruised with eight first-place finishes on the third day at the MPSF Championships at the Human Performance Center Pool.

Through 40 events, the Tigers' men's squad sit in first place over Incarnate Word with a 105-82 lead while the women's squad hold the third-place position behind Pepperdine and San Diego.

"We had an incredible day of racing," head coach Katelyne Herrington said. "Winning six individual races was huge tonight, as well as first in both medley relays for the men and women! We also had a sweep in the women's 200 free, which was a special moment for those girls. The team is continuing to race well and tomorrow should be exciting day!"

The six Pacific individuals who earned first-place nods and were crowned MPSF champions were freshman Javier Lopez Guillen (100 fly, 46.87), freshman Christina Agiomamitou (200 Free, 1:51.19), senior Mitchell Hopper (200 Free, 1:36.24), junior Mattia Giurgevich (100 Breast, 53.39), junior Annelise Thomas (100 Back, 55.77), senior Leland Baltazar (100 Back, 48.66).

The Tigers also won both 400 medley relays with the women swimming a time of 3:44.70 and the men clocking in at 3:11.93.
Pacific looks ahead to its final day of competition tomorrow with an MPSF title on the line.
