SAN JOSE, Calif. – Pacific women's tennis was not able to string together enough runs to overcome an early deficit from doubles and fell 4-1 to San Jose State on Tuesday afternoon at the Spartan Tennis Complex.
Sophomores
Nahreen Cheam and
Rayna Sugai held a 5-3 lead in doubles but were unable to finish their match before the Spartan's clinched the doubles point.
Sophomore
Milena Maiorova pulled out Pacific's (1-4) lone point for the contest in the singles portion, defeating her opponent in straight sets. Cheam and senior
Alexis Sam had both forced third sets and were locked in close matches when play was halted.
Up next, Pacific returns home Sunday to face Grand Canyon at 11 a.m. at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. Sunday's match will be live streamed through Track Tennis.
