Tigers Soundly Dispatch Seattle in WCC Opener

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's basketball team opened West Coast Conference play with a convincing 85-66 win over Seattle on Sunday at the Alex G. Spanos Center behind a career-high 19 points from sophomore Daria Nestorov.

The sophomore showcased an ability to score at all three levels shooting 8-for-16 from the court split between layups and mid-range jump shots while also connecting on three of six attempts from beyond the arc. Nestorov's success from deep this season has been a barometer of Pacific's (6-6, 1-0 WCC) success as the team improved to 4-1 when she hits multiple three-pointers. She also contributed outside of scoring by posting five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Not to be outshone, junior Nyah Lowery had a career-day scoring and rebounding with a final line of 15 points and eight rebounds. On the boards Lowery was strong creating opportunities for her teammates, grabbing three of her eight boards on the offensive end that helped lead to 16 second chance points. With a final shooting ledger of 6-for-14 from the floor and 2-for-8 from three-pointer, her shooting has been indicative of how Pacific fares as the team is 12-3 all-time when Lowery hits multiple threes.

A similar milestone was hit off the bench as junior Marina Radocaj converted 6-of-10 looks to score 12 points, improving the team's record to 6-1 when she scores in double figures. And by tallying two blocks on the afternoon, entered Pacific's all-time top-20, moving into 17th at 48 career blocks.

In the middle, Pacific's starting forward duo of sophomore Winner Bartholomew and senior Sydney Ward had effective days as the former went for 14 points and eight rebounds while the latter scored ten points with eight boards.

As a team Pacific was able to stymie Seattle (4-8, 0-1 WCC) to the tune of 17 turnovers, which led to Pacific earning 18 more shots and turned it into 22 points off turnovers while limiting the Redhawks to just six points off turnovers.

To finish off 2025, Pacific hosts San Diego on Tuesday at 2 p.m., looking to get off to a 2-0 start in WCC play. That game will be streamed on ESPN+.
