Pacific Remains Steady On Day Two at UNLV Invite

LAS VEGAS – The Pacific swim and dive program continued to progress at the UNLV Invite, hosted by UNLV at Buchanan Natatorium on Tuesday.

The Tigers stand in sixth place out of the seven participating programs on the women's side with 204 points while the men are in fifth place with 330 points. UNLV continues to lead the women's side with 663 points while Colorado Mesa is at the forefront of the men's totals with 742.5 points.

Sophomore Nate Rasmussen was a standout for the Pacific men, posting a runner-up finish in the A final of the men's 200 yard freestyle. Rasmussen notched a time of 1:36.55 to secure 17 points in the event. Freshman Raphael Vanhecke was right behind Rasmussen in that event in third place.

Sophomore Whitney Merriman was a key performer for the Pacific women, collecting 11 points in the A final of the 100 yard breast stroke.

The Tigers will wrap up with day three of the UNLV Invite tomorrow, beginning with preliminaries at 9:30 a.m. PT and finals at 5 p.m. PT. The events will be streamed live on the UNLV Athletics YouTube page.
