LAS VEGAS – The Pacific swim and dive program put in the work on the opening day of the UNLV Invite, hosted by UNLV at Buchanan Natatorium on Monday.
The Tigers stand in sixth place out of the seven participating programs on the women's side with 81 points while the men are in fifth place with 132 points. UNLV leads the women's side with 343 points and Colorado Mesa paces the men with 381.5 points.
For the Pacific women, senior
Annelise Thomas represented a big contributor, collecting 11 points in the A final of the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:07:89. Thomas also played a key role as Pacific's A team in the women's 200 yard freestyle relay scored 24 points during their seventh-place finish.
On the men's side, freshman Raphael Vanhecke served a bright spot, posting a runner-up nod in the men's 200 yard IM with a 1:46.19.
The Tigers return for day two of the UNLV Invite tomorrow, beginning with preliminaries at 9:30 a.m. PT and finals at 5 p.m. PT. The events will be streamed live on the UNLV Athletics YouTube page.
