This Week in Pacific Athletics

STOCKTON, Calif. – The men's and women's basketball teams are both in action this week as the men tip-off this morning against Stony Brook on a neutral court in Daytona Beach, Florida. The women's team hosts the Tiger Turkey Tip-Off on Friday and Saturday at the Alex G. Spanos Center, while the men return home to face Sacramento State at 7 p.m. Saturday. Volleyball concludes its season with road matches at San Diego and LMU.

Monday, Nov. 24 - Men's Basketball (3-2) vs. Stony Brook (4-1), 8:30 a.m. (PT) - Monday is the first-ever meeting between Pacific and Stony Brook as the two face off at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. The last time the Tigers played a school from New York was Nov. 26, 2017 when they beat Canisius 80-58 in Stockton. The last time Pacific tipped before noon was Nov. 7, 2022 in an 88-78 defeat at Stanford. The last time the Tigers won a game that tipped before noon was Nov. 22, 2012 when they topped Xavier 70-67 at 11 a.m. in the opening round of the DirecTV Classic at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Tuesday, Nov. 25 - Men's Basketball (3-2) vs. TBA, TBA time - Pacific remain in Daytona Beach for a game against either Bethune-Cookman or Jacksonville at the Ocean Center. The Tigers are 2-2 all-time against schools from Florida with wins over Florida A&M and Florida International but defeats to FAU and Miami.

Tuesday, Nov. 25 - Volleyball (8-19, 2-14 WCC) at San Diego (23-4, 16-0 WCC), 6 p.m. - Sophomore Alessia Couchond is coming off a monster performance as the Tigers setter, going for 50 assists against USF. The last time Pacific took a win in the series against the Toreros was in 2021, to do that this time the team will need a big game from its leading killer, graduate Olivia Keller who is averaging 3.30 kills per set. 

Friday, Nov. 28 - Women's Basketball (1-4) hosts Milwaukee (2-5), 3:30 p.m. - Pacific brings back the Tiger Turkey Tip-Off for the first time since the 2023-24 season and welcomes the preseason ninth place squad out of the Horizon Leage, Milwaukee. Freshman Sophia Mindermann has been a major catalyst for the Tigers, giving the team double digit scoring outings in consecutive games and is shooting 6-for-19 from beyond the arc in those games. All-time, Pacific is 1-2 against the current Horizon League, having last seen Green Bay in 2005.

Saturday, Nov. 29 - Volleyball (8-19, 2-14 WCC) at LMU (5-20, 3-13 WCC), 1 p.m. - When the Tigers last saw the Lions on the court it was Pacific's home opener, a match the Tigers took 3-1. Keller shone with a 19 kill, 13 dig double-double while freshman Mazi Smith put up 11 kills. Graduate Valentina Varani had five blocks in the match, and entering the final week of the season needs two blocks to be the program's first student-athlete with 100 blocks in a season since 2019. 

Saturday, Nov. 29 - Women's Basketball (1-4) hosts Jacksonville State (2-3), 3:30 p.m. -
In the last time last match, senior Sydney Ward tied her career-high 16 points behind an 8-for-8 day at the free throw line. In the Conference-USA preseason poll, Jacksonville State was predicted to finish 12th out of 12 teams. Pacific has never played a team from Alabama.

Saturday, Nov. 29 - Men's Basketball (3-2) hosts Sacramento State (3-2), 7 p.m. - Pacific is 31-8 all-time against Sac State and 20-3 at home. The last meeting was a 74-58 home win on Dec. 1, 2016. The Tigers are 2-0 at home this season with victories over Life Pacific and Long Beach State. Senior Elias Ralph, a WCC Preseason All-Conference Team selection, leads the Tigers with 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
