Tigers Trek to Utah Tech for Trailblazer Invitational

ST. GEORGE, UTAH – The Pacific swim and dive program returns to action with a busy slate ahead, preparing for the four-day Trailblazer Invitational, hosted by Utah Tech at Human Performance Center Pool from Wednesday, Nov. 19 to Saturday, Nov. 22.

The Tigers will represent one of seven programs competing this week at the Trailblazer Invitational, joining host Utah Tech, UC Davis, Fresno State, San Diego, Cal Baptist and UC San Diego.

"Heading into this mid-season meet, I'm excited to see how far this young group has come," Pacific head coach Katelyne Herrington said. "Traveling together gives us a chance to grow as a team, and the level of competition especially on the women's side will challenge us in the best ways. Strong morning swims will be crucial to getting into finals, and I'm looking forward to seeing our athletes step up and show the progress we've made."

Pacific looks to improve upon last year's results in the Trailblazer Invitational as the women (3-1) finished in eighth place while the men (1-1) secured fourth place amongst the competitive field.

Sophomore Christina Agiomamitou has been a strong swimmer on the women's side, notching five first-place victories from a variety of events so far this season. Sophomore Josephine Fields and redshirt junior Laureen Roussel join Agiomamitou as Pacific's top three women's swimmers in the 2025-26 campaign, according to their points earned from Swimcloud.

The men have been led by the early season surge of sophomore Nate Rasmussen along with the veteran presence of senior Mattia Giurgevich. The duo has accumulated over 700 points each, according to Swimcloud. Rasmussen has won MPSF Men's Athlete of the Week honors twice this season following performances at home against Fresno Pacific, San Jose State and UC Santa Cruz.

The four-day invitational will not be streamed. Events will take place at 10 a.m. MST/9 a.m. PST and 5 p.m. MST/4 p.m. PST each day. The morning sessions will feature preliminaries, followed by the finals in the nightcaps.
