Pacific to Play Exhibition Game Against Stockton Ports

11/13/2025 12:30:00 PM

STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of the Pacific baseball program is proud to announce an exhibition game against the Stockton Ports as part of the 2026 schedule.

The showdown on the diamond will feature some of the best professional and college baseball players for the Stockton community to view on Tuesday, March 31 at 7:05 p.m. at Banner Island Ballpark.

"It's a tremendous opportunity for our student-athletes to compete against a storied professional franchise like the Stockton Ports, right here in our city," Pacific head coach Reed Peters said. "We're looking forward to a great game and a fantastic night for Stockton baseball fans."

The Ports, one of the founding members of the California Baseball League in 1941, are the single-A affiliate of the Athletics of Major League Baseball and have seen college players come through their system to play in the pros.

Sophomore Diego Davis, a Stockton, California native, is looking forward to playing in a ballpark he grew up going to as a fan.

"I'm super excited to get to play against the Stockton Ports, a team that I have watched growing up," Davis said. "Being from Stockton, it will be very exciting to play at Banner Island in front of the community and the local fans."

In addition to the action on the field, local fans can look forward to player autograph sessions before the game and concession specials geared towards Stockton residents and Pacific students and staff.

Along with the exhibition contest against the Ports, the Tigers unveiled their complete 2026 schedule, which features non-conference series against Utah Valley, Utah Tech and Grand Canyon, Nevada and Sacramento State. West Coast Conference action begins at home against conference newcomer Seattle on March 20-22.

"With the recruiting class we brought in, we are excited about this upcoming season," Peters said. "This class should be deeper and more talented than last year. However, the non-conference schedule is also more difficult with the likes of Utah Valley, Grand Canyon, Nevada and Sacramento State. In all, it should be a very competitive season."

Pacific will open the 2026 campaign on Friday, Feb. 13 against the Wolverines at Klein Family Field.
