WBB Preview at Cal and vs. Seton Hall 2025

Women’s Basketball Takes on Marquee Opponents in Coming Week

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's basketball program starts out the week with the road opener at California's Haas Pavilion on Tuesday at 7 p.m. before ending the week with a program first home game with Seton Hall on Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Alex G. Spanos Center.

The Tuesday meeting with California (1-1) is the return of a home-and-home series started last season. In last season's game, Pacific (1-1) kept it close with the Power 4 foe but ultimately dropped an eight-point decision. Sophomore Winner Bartholomew will be an integral piece to ending Pacific's seven game skid with the Golden Bears, as the sophomore put up a career-high 24 points in the last match against CBU.

Her 24-point outing thus far is tied for the third highest scoring output of any player in the WCC this season and the ten field goals she made to score 24 is tied for the second most in a game in the conference this season.

More than a scorer, Bartholomew through two games has flashed the ability to impact the game in every facet averaging 7.0 rebounds per game and 2.0 steals per game to go along with her team leading 15.0 point per game average.

Pacific's journey to Haas Pavilion is the first road game against the ACC since Bradley Davis' first season at the helm in 2015-16 when the team went to North Carolina and upset the Tar Heels 66-63.

Then on Sunday, Seton Hall (1-0) is the first meeting with the Big East Conference since the 2023-24 season when Pacific welcomed Butler to Stockton for the Tiger Turkey Tip Off, a game in which Pacific won.

Sophomore Daria Nestorov has developed into a sharpshooter for the Tigers through two games, ranking top-40 in the country in both total threes made (seven) and three-pointers per game (3.5) – both categories of which she either leads or is tied for the lead in in the WCC.

And where Nestorov is propelling the Pacific offense from deep, the team's defense is suffocating their opponents from beyond the arc. Entering the week's action, Pacific ranks first in the conference and top-100 nationally in three-point percentage defense. Teams are shooting 23.6% from three against the Tigers, a ten-point improvement from the end of last season.

Pacific's rebounding is taking full advantage of the missed shots, as three Tigers are currently averaging seven or more rebounds a game. Led by junior Marina Radocaj's 8.5 rebound per game average, Pacific has grabbed 45 boards or more in consecutive games for the first time since the 2022-23 season. Radocaj, Bartholomew and senior Sydney Ward all rank in the top-ten in the conference currently in rebounding.

Tuesday's game against Cal will be streamed on the ACC Network X and Sunday against Seton Hall can be seen on ESPN+.
