SPOKANE, Wash. – The Pacific men's and women's cross country program earned eighth place in both races of the West Coast Conference Championships on Saturday morning at The Course Spokane Valley.
The women finished eighth out of 12 teams in the 6k while the men finished eighth out of ten teams in the 8k. Washington State was crowned the team champion of both races.
For the women, the eighth-place nod marks their best finish in the WCC championships since 2018. The Tigers had never beaten this many teams on the women's side since 2017 when they were seventh out of ten teams. The men competed in their inaugural conference race.
The women were led by sophomore
Angelina Lione, who collected 28th place with a time of 21:33.8. The men were paced by junior
Samuel Lanham, who finished in 36th place and clocked in a time of 25:07.4.
Up next, the Tigers look ahead to continuing the postseason at the NCAA West Regionals, which will take place Friday, Nov. 14 in Sacramento, California.
