No. 7 Pacific Preps for Four Non-Conference Games at Julian Fraser Memorial

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Stepping aside from conference play for the weekend, the No. 7 Pacific men's water polo program will play four games in three days at the Julian Fraser Memorial beginning 12 p.m. Friday against No. 19 Harvard at the Sullivan Aquatic Center.

Pacific (10-5, 4-1 WCC), which moved up seven sports in the Collegiate Water Polo Association national ranking, will play two games Saturday in San Jose against Bucknell at 9 a.m. and Pomona-Pitzer at 3:40 p.m. at the Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center. The Tigers will return to Santa Clara on Sunday to play Fresno Pacific at 10:40 a.m. at the Sullivan Aquatic Center.

All games of the tournament will be streamed on Overnght Network.

The Tigers have gotten hot and have beaten three consecutive top-10 opponents with wins over No. 7 San Jose State, No. 8 Pepperdine and No. 10 LMU. They are coming off an unbeaten road weekend where they traveled to Southern California to knock off the Waves and the Lions.

Pacific swept the West Coast Conference weekly awards as freshman goalkeeper Kiss Gergely won Player of the Week and freshman Apostolos Georgaras won Newcomer of the Week. Gergely recorded 27 saves over two games with a .540 save percentage, while Georgaras tallied seven goals, two assists and six steals.

The Tigers are 8-1 all-time against Harvard (12-6, 5-0 NWPC) and won a 14-13 meeting last season at this tournament. Pacific is 11-1 all-time against Bucknell (7-11, 4-5 MAWPC) and have won 10 straight meetings with the last being a 15-13 victory in 2023 in San Jose.

Pacific is 4-0 all-time against Pomona-Pitzer (11-9, 6-0 SCIAC) with the last being a 14-12 win in 2023. The Tigers are 2-0 all-time against Fresno Pacific (3-12, 1-2 WWPA) with the last being a 21-7 win in 2021.

Looking ahead, Pacific will look to defend its West Coast Conference Regular Season Championship at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2 at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center against No. 13 Cal Baptist. A win for Pacific would solidify the title and the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament.
