BERKELEY, Calif. – Graduate
Cindy Ung and freshman
Pauline Lerminiaux won their opening two matches at the 2025 ITA Northwest Regional before losing a tight match in the round of 16 over the weekend.
The pair grinded out wins in the rounds of 64 and 32 over opponents from Eastern Washington and Fresno State, preceding the close loss to Oregon.
Sophomore
Maggie Hoe and junior
Leyanne Hirota won their opening match over Portland State before falling in the round of 32 to Stanford. Meanwhile Juniors
Rayna Sugai and
Milena Maiorova fell in the opening round to Oregon.
Maiorova did however advance to the round of 32 in the singles bracket, defeating Saint Mary's in the round of 64. Ung and Sugai both fell in the first round but rebounded to reach the round of 16 in the qualifying bracket before the tournament was suspended.
The program finishes up their scheduled fall season in November when they travel to Northridge for the CSUN Invitational.
