STOCKTON, Calif. – Membership is open for the newly established Casaba Club, a booster group for the Pacific men's & women's basketball programs.
The Casaba Club was the original basketball support group that, along with the Quarterback Club in football, were the precursors to the Pacific Athletic Foundation. Membership will provide funds to elevate and sustain championship caliber NCAA Division I basketball programs and allow members exclusive access to the coaches and student-athletes.
"I'm excited about launching the Casaba Club to support our basketball programs and assist in our vision of winning championships. As we strive to position ourselves at the top of the West Coast Conference, having the Casaba Club invest in our student-athletes, coaches, facilities and our pursuit of championships will be a pillar for sustained success. I'm looking forward to engaging our fans, alumni and community to aid in this new avenue for achievements," said director of athletics Adam Tschuor.
Membership costs $6,000 a year or $500 a month and includes exclusive access to interact with athletes and coaches including select open practices, invitation to team events and in-game experiences. It also includes high quality "Team Only" Casaba Club/Pacific Tigers adidas branded gear not available to the public, and first priority on WCC postseason tickets and hotel room access, including the NCAA Tournament.
"The creation of the Casaba Club shows the commitment of our department and the dedication of our boosters in creating an environment where our student-athletes can thrive," said men's basketball head coach Dave Smart. "The Casaba Club will make a significant impact on our program and every dollar raised will go directly to supporting our student-athletes."
The Casaba Club will provide aid to the basketball programs in several areas including Alston money, foreign tours every four years, improved scheduling, charter travel and more.
"The Casaba Club sets a new standard for community engagement and support for our student-athletes. It will provide an outlet for the community to directly contribute to our program and be part of our success. Membership will not only assist us in our quest of winning championships but also improve the overall college experience of our student-athletes," said women's basketball head coach
Bradley Davis.
Casaba was used in reference to a variety of melons prevalent to the region and was used as recognizing both the significant impact that produce has on the local community as well as honoring long time Pacific Athletics supporter and former Board of Regent member, Don Smith, a prominent melon and vegetable producer.
