STOCKTON, Calif. – In a celebratory night in the Janssen-Lagorio Gymnaisum on Wednesday, Pacific Athletics honored teams, student-athletes and staff from the 2023-24 year at the 12th annual Tommy Awards, the department's end of the year banquet.

In total, 25 awards were distributed after votes from PSAAC, the student body and department administrators.

About the Awards
The Tiger Spirit Award was renamed this year in memory of Alice Hirata in recognition of her enduring positive Spirit and her unwavering support of student athletes on the playing field, in the classroom and as people. This award is given to an individual who has contributed to the spirit, energy and culture of the Pacific Athletic Department in a way that has inspired the success of their peers, strengthened the community around them, and shown determination to be the best version of themselves.

Tiger Tally is a competition between teams where points are earned by teams based on community service hours, supporting other athletes and teams, showing academic and athletic excellence, and more. But tiger tally also runs deeper, it signifies all of us having each other's backs, strengthening the bonds of our community, and uniting to represent our university.

The Gena Johnson Sports Medicine Comeback Award is given annually by the Sports Medicine Staff to an individual who sustained a devastating injury or illness, and had a challenging rehabilitation which may have included personal struggles or other extenuating circumstances, yet has returned to play at a high level. Showing unwavering perseverance and determination.Â

The Iron Tiger Athletic Performance Awards were selected by the Strength & Conditioning staff.

The Amos Alonzo Stagg Scholar Athlete Award recognizes the top male and female senior scholar-athletes. This award honors Amos Alonzo Stagg, who put Pacific's football program on the national map when he was named our football head coach. He was and an early innovator in the sport of football and believed strongly in the academic excellence of his student-athletes. In his honor, Pacific recognized the senior female and male student-athletes with the highest cumulative GPA.Â

The Dan Malley Service Award is presented to student athletes who are juniors or seniors, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have provided notable service to others within the athletic department, university and the wider community.Â

The Pacific Tigers Leadership Award was established to recognize student-athletes for their initiative and outstanding leadership skills.
Â
The Four Pillars Award honors those who best represent the Four Pillars of Pacific Athletics which are Balance, Family, Winning and Innovation.
Â
The Director of Athletics All-Tiger Award recognizes the best of the best – the top athletic performing male and female student-athletes from the year.
