Softball Prepares for Santa Clara, Hold Senior Day for Series Finale

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific softball team hosts Santa Clara for its final home conference series of the 2024 season. The Tigers highlight the final game of the four-game series on Sunday, May 5 for their Senior Day celebration.

Due to inclement weather en route to the Stockton area, the doubleheader originally scheduled for Saturday, May 4 will now be played on Friday, May 3 starting at 4 p.m. Sunday's contest remains a noon start. Further updates regarding Saturday's lone game came be found on pacifictigers.com.
 
Senior Rian Dirmeyer leads the Tigers offense with a .350 batting average, 50 hits and 20 runs. Her 15 total multi-hit games rank first on the team after collecting her 12th two-hit game in the LMU series. The shortstop ties first on the team with 20 RBI, while pacing the team with six home runs.
 
Solidifying the offense is sophomore Olivia Silvestre. The left fielder holds a .348 batting average and leads the team with 30 runs scored on the year. She's recorded 47 hits and 3 home runs, while leading the Tigers with seven stolen bases. 
 
Leading the defensive charge is senior Avery Croxall, who ranks first on both the team and the WCC with her 1.35 ERA. She has seven wins on the season and holds a .198 OBA. Through 77.2 innings pitched, Croxall has struck out a team leading 67 batters.
 
Junior Delaney Scully leads the conference with 317 putouts on the season. She holds a .236 batting average, while recording 33 hits and 18 runs.
 
Since their return to the WCC, the Tigers have led the series 15-12. They are 17-7 at home against the Broncos dating back to 2006. The two teams last met at Bill Simoni Field in 2022, with the Tigers taking one game in the series. 
 
The Tigers hold a collective .242 batting and a combined 4.42 ERA. The Broncos combine for a 3.73 ERA and .268 batting average. 
 
The series starts on Friday, May 3 at 4 p.m. as a doubleheader. Game two follows directly after. The Tigers hold their Youth and Family Day on Saturday, welcoming all to attend for a full day of family fun. They conclude their season on Sunday at noon, where they will recognize their six seniors prior to the game.
