Softball Closes Out Non Conference Schedule Against San Jose State

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific softball team brings its non conference slate to a close with a midweek matchup with San Jose State at Bill Simoni Field on Wednesday, April 10 at 4 p.m.
 
The Tigers come off an impressive 4-3 comeback victory in extra innings over cross town rival UC Davis, rattling off three solo home runs in the process. It was Pacific's first win over the Aggies since 2018.
 
Sophomore Olivia Silvestre leads the Tigers with a .385 batting average and was one of the three Tigers to score a home run last week. She paces the team with 22 runs and 40 hits on the season after scoring her second home run of her career. The left fielder has now scored at least one run in her last six appearances.
 
Senior Rian Dirmeyer, who leads all Tigers with five home runs this season, ranks second on the team with a .333 batting average, 15 runs and 35 hits. The shortstop's 16 RBI pace the team this season. Junior Delaney Scully leads both the conference and the team with 235 putouts. She's batting .250, scoring 14 runs and recording 26 hits this season.
 
Senior Avery Croxall collected her fourth win of the season after closing out the final innings against the Aggies. She moves to 4-2 on the season and leads the team with a 1.28 ERA and .195 OBA.Through 54.2 innings pitched, she has struck out 53 batters in 19 appearances in the circle this season.
 
The Tigers lead the Spartans 11-8 dating back to 2006 and have gone 3-2 in their last five games. They last defeated San Jose State at home in 2022 after a 3-2 win, but the Spartans got a game back in San Jose in 2023.
 
As a team, the Spartans are hitting a collective .258 while holding a 5.07 ERA from the circle. The Tigers are hitting .255 as a team, while holding a 4.33 ERA.
