GOLETA, Calif. – The Pacific men's golf team steadied the course, scoring one-under-par 287 in the third round to finish in seventh place out of 13 teams with a three-over-par 867 on Tuesday at Sandpiper Golf Club.
Nevada claimed the top spot on the team leaderboard with a 31-under-par 833. LMU and Utah rounded out the podium in second and third place, respectively.
Senior
Petr Janik led the Tigers, sitting in a tie for 14th place out of the 71 individual golfers and scoring a three-under par 213 (70-72-71).
Freshman
Carlos Astiazaran finished his second day of the tournament on a high note, earning two-under-par 70 for a final total of one-over-par 217 (77-70-70) and a finish in a tie for 28th place. Fifth year
Maverick Pavletich bounced back from the opening two rounds with an even-par 72 to complete his two-day total of six-over-par 222 (79-71-72).
Sophomore
Ian Fritz (73-78-74) and sophomore
Timothy Jung (74-73-78) rounded out the team scoring with a nine-over-par 225.
The Tigers have a quick turnaround as they make the short trip for the El Macero Classic hosted by UC Davis at El Macero Country Club.
