Tigers Host Roadrunners for Military Appreciation Night

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific baseball team welcomes in CSU Bakersfield for Military Appreciation Night at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Klein Family Field. 
 
Last week, the Tigers (5-26, 1-8 WCC) had a setback against Portland on the road.
 
This week, Pacific hosts CSU Bakersfield (10-21, 5-7 Big West) who enters the series as winners of its last two series against Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton. The Roadrunners also have a home series win against San Francisco. 
 
The Roadrunners are hitting .264 as a team with Jonah Shields carrying the torch with a .329 batting average. Nick Salas has scored the most runs (15) and is tied for the team lead in stolen bases with four. 
 
On the mound, CSU Bakersfield is led by Kellen O' Connor with his 2.08 ERA in seven starts and 43.1 innings of work. 
 
Since 2009, the Tigers own a 7-7 record against Roadrunners, including a 4-2 home record. In 2022, Pacific took two of three home games from CSU Bakersfield by winning the final two games of the series. 
 
Sophomore Jack Metcho paces the Tigers' offense with a .263 batting average with a team-high 31 hits, 21 runs, four triples and six stolen bases. Freshman Gabe Camacho holds the team lead in home runs (4) while sophomore Jake Tandy leads the Tigers with 21 RBIs. 
 
Tuesday's game is scheduled for 5 p.m. first pitch start time. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
