BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Pacific baseball team fell to CSU Bakersfield, 11-1, in seven innings on Tuesday at Hardt Field.
Junior
Jakob Guardado extended his on-base streak to 12 games with a single for the Tigers (8-36, 3-12 WCC), but the pitching from the Roadrunners (12-30, 6-15 Big West) quieted most of the Tiger bats throughout the night.
Sophomore
Tony Otis went 1-for-3 with his team-leading 11th double of the season. Sophomore
Kaden Petersen also collected a double and scored a run on sophomore
Andre Vidal's sacrifice fly.
Freshman
Bryce Cruz made his second start of the season, pitching 3.0 innings and allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits while striking out one batter.
The Roadrunners struck first with three runs in the bottom of the first inning, taking an early 3-0 lead.
Pacific got a run back in the top of the fifth inning on Vidal's sacrifice fly, bringing home Petersen.
The Roadrunners responded with four runs in each of the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings to secure the victory by a 11-1 final score, completing the home-and-home contests between the two teams.
Pacific returns to action at 6 p.m. on Friday for Local Business Night at Klein Family Field against Gonzaga. The Tigers seeks their first win over the Bulldogs since 2019.
