STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific baseball team travels to face CSU Bakersfield at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Hardt Field.
The Tigers (8-35, 3-12 WCC) are coming off a setback against San Francisco where they took the first game of the road series, putting up a season-high 12 runs in a 12-7 victory before falling in the next two.
This week, the Tigers complete the home-and-home against the Roadrunners (11-30, 6-15 Big West) with the away portion for the midweek matchup. Pacific then returns home to face Gonzaga to finish the weekend.
The Roadrunners enter the competition having lost nine of their last ten games. The Roadrunners are hitting .257 as a team with Jonah Shields carrying the torch with a .302 batting average. Nick Salas has scored the most runs (22), has taken the most walks (25) and is tied for the team lead in stolen bases (4).
On the mound, Bakersfield is led by Kellen O' Connor with his 2.91 ERA in ten starts and 58.2 innings of work. The Roadrunners average giving up 5.20 runs per game this season.
Since 2009, the Tigers own an 8-7 record against Roadrunners. Pacific defeated Bakersfield three weeks ago by a 11-1 score in seven innings at Klein Family Field. The Tigers hit a season-high four home runs, including back-to-back home runs by sophomore

Four Tigers are tied for the team lead in batting average at .252 with Metcho having the most at-bats (155), runs scored (33), hits (39), triples (4), walks (28) and stolen bases (9). Metcho's four triples rank tied for first in the West Coast Conference while his 28 walks are tied for second among the league leaders.
Senior
Chase Graves looks to keep a hot bat going after hitting 7-for-11 with three doubles and three runs scored in the series against San Francisco. Graves raised his batting average to .252 and his on-base percentage to .373.
Sophomore
Tony Otis has scored 12 runs in his last ten games. Otis is tied with Graves for the team lead in doubles with ten.
Junior
Jakob Guardado paces the Tigers in team ERA with a 6.14 mark. The right-handed pitcher has made 11 appearances and has completed 44.0 innings of work.
Tuesday's game is scheduled for 6 p.m. first pitch start time. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
