Pacific to Participate in Last Meet at Fresno State Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific women's track and field is competing in its last meet of the season at the Fresno State Invitational on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Tigers participate in the event for the first time since 2018.

Last time, Pacific appeared in three competitions during the weekend of Apr. 12-13.

Senior Sophie Pazzo represented the Tigers in the Leopard Distance Carnival hosted by La Verne. The Claremore, Okla set a personal best time of 18:22.44 in the 5k.

Three Pacific student-athletes participated in the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific. Junior Ella Leroy earned third in section and 35th overall in javelin with a 35.12m throw. Sophomore Emily Wernli (1st in section, 4:46.81 (PR)) and junior Sophia Livingston (11th in section, 4:56.69) placed in the top 11 in their sections of the 1500m.

The rest of the Tigers competed at the Chuck Buettner Twilight which took place at Chabot College. Pacific finished seventh out of 12 teams with a total of 33 points.
Five Tigers set PRs during the event with sophomore Serena Yee and freshman Nadia Garcia Martinez earning top 10 overall finishes in throws. Yee won the high jump (1.40m) while registering third in the triple jump (9.56m). Martinez earned fifth in shot put (9.49m) and eighth in discus throw (19.11m).
