Carmichael Garners WCC All-Academic First Team Honor

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.- Junior Megan Carmichael collected her second straight WCC All-Academic First Team honor for her demonstration of academic and athletic excellence, as announced by the conference this morning.

"Megan is an outstanding student-athlete who sets a high bar in the classroom and on the tennis court," head coach Mike Erwin shared. "We are thrilled for her to receive this award and grateful for her impact on our program."

To be eligible for the recognition, a student-athlete must hold a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA while making significant contributions to the team in at least their sophomore season.

"I'm honored to receive this award, it's great to have my hard work through this amazing season be recognized," Carmichael said.

Carmichael has accumulated five singles wins on the season, while going 1-0 from court four. In doubles, the junior is 2-1 from court three with wins over CSU Fullerton and Santa Clara.

It's the second First Team All-Academic honor for the junior psychology major, having achieved recognition from the WCC a year prior. Also in her sophomore season, she was named to the CSC All-Academic All-District and WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
