STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific baseball team fell to California, 12-3, on Tuesday night at Klein Family Field.
The Tigers (7-33) opened the scoring and held an early lead, but the Golden Bears (25-14) responded and poured on the offense throughout the night.
Sophomore
Tony Otis scored one of the three Tiger runs on the night, extending his streak to seven consecutive games of scoring a run while going 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.
Freshman
Gabe Camacho made his first start of the season on the mound, pitching 3.0 innings and allowing four earned runs on five hits while striking out two batters.
Pacific struck first in the bottom of the first as sophomore
Rylan Evans brought home Otis on an RBI groundout to take a 1-0 lead.
Camacho cruised through two innings before Cal scored four runs in the top of the third inning to take a 4-1 lead. The Bears added two more runs in the top of the fourth on a two-run home run, extending their lead to 6-1.
The Tigers were able to get a run in the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings, but it was the Bears who outscored the Tigers on the night, finishing the ball game with a 12-3 victory.
Pacific returns to action at 2 p.m. on Friday at San Francisco.
