STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific baseball team welcomes in LMU for a three-game series, beginning with Fireworks Night at 6 p.m. on Friday at Klein Family Field.
The Tigers (6-30, 1-8 WCC) are coming off a setback against UC Davis on Wednesday where Pacific's late rally fell short in the 12-6 loss.
This weekend, Pacific resumes West Coast Conference play by hosting the Lions (15-23, 2-10 WCC) at home.
The Lions were tabbed to finish fifth in the 2024 West Coast Conference preseason poll. Khadim Diaw was named to the 2024 All-WCC preseason baseball team.
This season, the Lions are hitting .273 as a team with Christian Dicochea pacing the offense with a .348 batting average, 32 runs and nine doubles.
Sam Biller leads the Lions with nine home runs. Biller had a home run in five of his first seven games this season.
On the mound, Ryan Towers holds the LMU lead in ERA (4.12) through nine starts and 39.1 innings of work.
The Lions own the 19-7 series advantage since 2014. The Tigers seek their first victory over the Lions since April 9, 2022. In that 12-7 win over LMU, senior
Telly Hill went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Sophomore
Kaden Petersen leads the Tigers with a .274 batting average with 12 extra-base hits, including three home runs. Freshman
Gabe Camacho paces Pacific with six home runs. Senior
Chase Graves leads the WCC with 26 walks while earning an on-base percentage of .365.
The Tigers' pitching staff is led by junior
Ethan Shaver who holds a 7.52 ERA in a team-high nine starts and 40.2 innings of work.
The series will kick off Friday with a 6 p.m. first pitch. Saturday is set for a 6 p.m. first pitch and the series will close with a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday. All games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
