Tigers Host Aggies for Midweek Matchup

STOCKTON, Calif. – For the start of a five-game homestand, the Pacific baseball team welcomes in UC Davis, beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Klein Family Field.

Last week, the Tigers (6-29, 1-8 WCC) had a setback against Kansas on the road, but also earned an 11-1 victory over CSU Bakersfield in seven innings during the team's most recent home contest.

This week, Pacific will play four games at home, starting with a standalone game against UC Davis (16-17, 5-7 Big West) before hosting LMU for a three-game series over the weekend.

Since 2006, the Tigers and Aggies have met 42 times with Pacific owning a 17-25 record in that span. The two teams crossed paths earlier this season with the Aggies taking the contest, 17-3. In that contest, freshman JT Shank went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored. The last time the Tigers defeated the Aggies at home was on April 9, 2019, with a final score of 13-8.

The Aggies feature a lineup highlighted by six key returning hitters. Among the crop of veteran returnees is Mark Wolbert, who is hitting .303 with four doubles, 18 runs scored and 17 RBIs. Damian Stone leads UC Davis with three home runs and a team-high 17 RBIs.

Sophomore Kaden Petersen carries the torch for the Pacific offense, hitting a team-best .284 with 22 runs scored, three home runs and 15 RBIs. After hitting two home runs last week, freshman Gabe Camacho has extended his team lead in home runs to six while hitting .228 with 14 RBIs.

Senior Chase Graves is second on the Tigers with a .364 on-base percentage, which has been aided by his team-high 25 walks. His 25 walks are tied for first in the West Coast Conference.

Tuesday's game will kick off with a 5 p.m. first pitch. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
