DAVIS, Calif. – The Pacific men's golf team recorded a 21-over-par 309 and finished the opening day of the El Macero Classic in a tie for 11th place on Friday at the El Macero Country Club.
Grand Canyon leads the event with a first-day score of six-over-par 294.
Freshman
Carlos Astiazaran tallied the team low round for the Tigers, carding a two-over-par 74. The native of Tucson, Ariz., recorded five birdies and finished the opening day in a tie for tenth place. Grand Canyon's Tomasso Zorzetto leads the event through the first 18 holes with a score of one-under-par 71.
Senior
Petr Janik finished the opening day in a tie for 20nd place with a three-over-par 75. Janik notched. Sophomore
Deitrek Gill wrapped up his first 18 holes with a six-over-par 78. Senior
Alex Barclay and fifth year
Maverick Pavletich rounded out the Pacific lineup with ten-over-par 82 and 11-over-par 83, respectively.
Sophomore
Ian Fritz competed as an individual, earning a two-over-par 74 and a tie for tenth place.
